New Cutting Tools at Custom Quilling

A collection of new fingertip knives have arrived at Custom Quilling, these little blades are awesome!

You hold the knife similar to how you hold a pencil by cradling your finger and "drive" the knife with your thumb and middle finger.
So far we have three types in stock, the first is the basic.
DT Heidi's review on this tool:
"I have been craft knife challenged until now. You put your index finger in the loop handle and just point and cut. It swivels around corners and curls around bends with no hopping, rolling or slipping. Best of all very little pressure is required."

Next is this rotary blade, the tiny rotary blade glides smoothly wherever your finger is pointing, to easily cut the thinnest and most delicate papers

Last but not least is the swivel blade, is ideal for cutting intricate designs and flowing shapes.

So if you are knife challenged like Heidi these may come to your rescue!

A Guide to Endangered Flora in Quilling

A brand new quilling book has just been released!

Stop by Custom Quilling to check it out.....

Colorful floral shapes inspired by endangered plant species will attract countless new fans to quilling, the decorative art also known as paper filigree.
This collection of unique projects includes endangered flowers such as the mountain-dwelling Peach Myrtle, the graceful Slipper Orchid, and the shy Snowdrop, as well as some beloved plants that are not endangered, including the Common Poppy, Queen Anne’s Lace, and Sunflower.

Having already published over 86 quilled floral designs, Helen Walter now presents quilling endangered plant species.
This should excite quillers and also to raise an awareness of our disappearing flora, whether the disappearance be caused by climate change, human activity, loss of habitat or natural disaster.
The projects are set into seven categories of endangerment: Prehistoric; Extinct; Extinct in the Wild; Critically Endangered; Endangered: Vulnerable; and Thriving.

The author, whose books have spread the joy of quilling to crafters around the world, presents 42 charming projects with full-color illustrations and step-by-step instructions.
